Death of A Cell: Summary of the Apoptosis Cycle: An Exercise For the Student

As an exercise for the students, this diagram shows two pathways. One pathway initiates apoptosis. And one pathway that tends to inhibit apoptosis. Divide the students into three groups.

Group One should identify decision points along the pathways that ultimately lead to Apoptosis.

Group Two should identify the factors that encourage the progress of the Apoptosis cascade of events.

Group Three should identify the factors that halt the progress of the Apoptosis cascade of events.

Presentation should be a "tag team" with Group One walking through the decision process. At each point, Group two and three will present their factors influencing the decision.
