Basics - What the student should know.

Some prerequisites the student should be familiar with:

  1. That the respiratory system brings air from the environment into intimately close proximity with the blood allowing gas exchange to occur.
  2. That blood in the body flows from higher pressure vessels to lower pressure vessels.
  3. That blood travels in a continuous circuit from the heart, to the lungs, back to the heart, to the body (systemic tissues) and back to the heart.
